Just 3 simple knit hats, all small, all different, made with leftover yarn.

Linda's Green Beanie and Linenlook Scarf

This knit beanie and scarf were made from the green brushed look Plymouth Encore. The scarf is done in the linen stitch so its very soft and smooth on one side and bumpy like the seed stitch on the other side. I used a size 9 needle on the scarf to loosen it up a bit.

Linda's Cuffed Earflap Knit Hat and Crocheted Scarf

This set is pretty simple and took about a day to complete, start to finish, probably because I cheated and crocheted the scarf.

The hat is a simple 2x2 rib, long enough for a cuff, and I stopped with a lot of stitches to give more fullness in the top and did not require dpns. I knit the two earflaps in moss stitch first, then when once I got to the row where I wanted to add the earflaps, I just knit/purled the earflap stitches together with the hat stitches. I finished the hat with two braided ties and a large pom.

The scarf is long and was done with a sc, ch-1 repeat across, with the next row of sc going in the ch-1 spaces. Very simple and fast and looks great in this awesome varigated yarn.

Materials

1 1/2 skeins Plymouth Encore Colorspun 7128

Size 8 circular needle (for hat)
Size I crochet hook (scarf)

Size: Large
Time: 8 hrs / set

Linda's Vari-striped Baby bBlanket

This blanket was crocheted using the green-blue varicolored Bernat baby yarn. I made each row long enough so that the color change naturally caused vertical striping.

Materials

3 skeins Bernat Baby Coordinates green - blue varigated

Size I crochet hook

Linda's Diagonal Striped Baby Blanket

As baby blankets go, this was pretty fast and very easy. It starts with a ch-3 circle, and increases one stitch on each end every row, with a ch-3 loop to the next row. Once the blanket is half the desired size, decrease one stitch on each end every row with a ch-2 loop to the next row. I finished it with a single-crochet border.

Some of this yarn was graciously donated to the cause via the Yarn Shop in Overland Park, and I got a bit more of the same yarn at Micheals.

Materials

Bernat Baby Coordinates yarn
- 1 skein white
- 1 skein pink
- 1 skein blue
- 1 skein pale yellow

Size I crochet hook

Go Chiefs! Hat and Scarf

The hat is a 2x2 rib with the red portion long enough to cuff for extra warmth, as shown in the photo. The scarf is knit flat in seed stitch. Seed stitch is so dense that I loosened it up by using larger needles.

1 skein bright yellow worsted weight yarn
1 skein bright red-orange worsted weight yarn

Size 8, 16-inch circluar needle (hat)
Size 8 double-pointed needles (hat)
